#Make2020 with GoDaddy

About 6 months ago I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my entrepreneurial passions full-time. To say the least, I was terrified! Check out My “Leap of Faith” Entrepreneurship Story where I highlighted what led to me leaving my corporate job and finding my purpose.

Fast forward to today and I am ecstatic to say that things have been going so well! I honestly couldn’t have pictured that I would be in the position I am right now, but I am beyond grateful, happy, and excited for what the future has in store!

Since I left my job on Wall Street I have been working on building my own technology company (cheers to adding to the 3% of African-American women working in this field, according to the National Center for Women & Information Technology) as well as building an independent consulting business in entertainment, media, and fashion while I continue to grow my personal brand and maybe even do some professional modeling!

As an entrepreneur I really love that I have the freedom to set my own schedule, work with many different types of people and projects, and have my office be anywhere I want it to be. In order to stay on top of my budding businesses, I need to make sure I have the right tech support backing me up.

GoDaddy has been the perfect support I’ve needed. They are all about helping people make their own way and celebrating those making the world they want. Everything they do is to help the brave, inspiring, independent people who choose the path to make something of their own.

They can help you create action plans to show you what you need to do to reach your goals, they provide metrics to tell you how you stack up against your competitors, and they even give you a score so that you can track your progress. GoDaddy truly is dedicated to the dreamers, makers, movers and shakers.

Going into the new year, I want to prepare myself to have the most productive and fruitful year possible. On top of taking time to determine my personal and entrepreneurship goals for 2020 by creating a vision board and a concrete, step by step action plan for those objectives, some questions I am going to be asking myself are:

What can I do better?

What can’t I accomplish this year?

These questions are important because it’s necessary to be realistic about your goals. What are some ways I can improve in the new year? What can I do differently in order to get a better outcome? Also, being able to identify your long-term and stretch goals versus short-term and more tangible goals is key to actually being able to achieve the milestones you’re looking for. Be honest with yourself and assess for example that “this goal isn’t something that would be feasible to accomplish in one year alone, but I know that if I follow these steps I can accomplish it within 3 years.”

In order to make sure I accomplish my goals I need to focus on utilizing my time wisely. Procrastination is my vice and it can be hard for me to maximize my time sometimes when Instagram starts (metaphorically) calling my name or I get into a Youtube spiral and end up watching videos on the most random topics including socio-economics, outer space, spirituality, and beauty.

Let’s be real… Not all screen time is equal. There is useless and there is useful screen time and it’s important to know the difference. I really want to reclaim my time on social media and make the most of it in 2020. I think that’s a great goal for everyone to include on their list of new year’s resolutions!

I’m thankful for companies like GoDaddy that inspire entrepreneurs like me to set their goals in motion and actually provide the tools and power I need to succeed online. I am actively turning my dreams into a reality and with GoDaddy, you can too. Take your next step today and let me know how GoDaddy has helped you too!

xoxo, Arielle
