For those of you who’ve been keeping up with me for a while, you already know a little bit about my skincare journey. I’ve dealt with acne regularly since high school and as I’ve gotten older, gone to college, moved to different cities, changed jobs, and just LIFE, my skin has gone through some changes as well.

But no matter how my environment changes or my stress-levels and diet fluctuates, acne always seems to be the one common denominator for me. Because of this, I have to constantly pay attention to what my skin needs at that particular point in my life, on top of always making sure I include some breakout fighting products too.

My go-to breakout fighting product is 10% benzoyl peroxide (which I recently shared in my latest video on my IGTV where I outlined in detail my current skincare routine), but lately I’ve been getting some stubborn pimples that need a different solution, so I’ve decided to use a product I’ve never tried before, called Acne Free Adapalene Gel.

Acne Free Product Overview

• A derivative of Vitamin A, Adapalene Gel 0.1% is a member of the retinoid ingredient family and was previously only available by prescription
• Retinoids help slow down the accumulation of dead skin cells in the pores, which is a main contributor to breakouts. Retinoids also help prevent and improve white heads and blackheads because they increase cell turnover
• Studies have shown that compared to other retinoids, Adapalene Gel 0.1% causes less irritation to the skin

Adapalene Gel is suggested for the treatment of acne blemishes, including blackheads, whiteheads and clogged pores. It only needs to be applied once-daily, which is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time on their skincare routine. Adapalene Gel is great for those looking to try a prescription strength acne-fighting ingredient.

This product does not contain benzoyl peroxide, which means it won’t bleach your sheets and towels! Although I love my benzoyl peroxide, the whole bleaching thing can be so frustrating!
