Fear of God, a brand that has quickly become a cult favorite and featured in the likes of GQ, Complex, Hypebeast, PacSun, and even Vogue, is frequently seen worn by celebrities like Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West, Rihanna, Travis Scott, Justin Bieber, Future, 2 Chainz, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid. Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo has pushed his brand to the center of the menswear universe with his main collection F.O.G., a lower priced line sold exclusively at PacSun, vintage rock tees, and all of Kanye West’s Yeezy Season and Yeezus Tour merchandise, just to name a few. Lorenzo will soon be releasing his fifth collection featuring items that are inspired by his classic ’90s look as well as his favorite sport, baseball, and the movie Boyz in the Hood.
Fear of God is also partnering with New Era again to create a line of fitted baseball caps that honor some of baseball’s greatest players – including my dad, Hall of Famer Dave Winfield – in order to help benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation and to help increase resources to the MLB’s Playball Initiative.
Jerry Lorenzo’s commitment to God, charity, and fashion makes his brand Fear of God one of my new favorites.

In a quote from Vogue Magazine, Lorenzo says, “this [brand] is 100 percent who I am, which is just as much hip-hop as Christian; I’m just as much grunge and rock ’n’ roll as I am a man of God. I feel like the name Fear of God speaks to that”.
Another reason I look up to Lorenzo is because of his commitment to representation. In reference to one of his shows Lorenzo said, “Being in a place of self-confidence also meant I felt okay with having an all-brown cast of models because I wanted my kids to see themselves in it instead of having a mixed cast that might be more pleasing to the fashion world”. Fear of God is a brand that continues to break fashion barriers while remaining socially responsible and considerate of God’s word.
